IRVING, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 08/08/14 -- Online video news consumption continues to grow at a rapid pace, according to a recent report by the Pew Research Center's Journalism Project. In fact, as many adults now get their news from watching online video as from cable news stations or Facebook. In order to help associations benefit from this trend, Dallas-based MultiView, Inc. recently announced the September launch of Newsdesk, a customized video news program highlighting the latest industry and association news.
Newsdesk is an association-branded, professionally-produced video news program providing news stories in fast-paced and entertaining two-minute segments. With guidance from the association, MultiView's industry content experts and post-production team create a weekly production schedule, script, stop-motion graphics and provide the on-air talent. News is selected from a variety of sources, including both mainstream media and trade publications, and includes association-specific news items. The final edited product, known to association members as "The Minute," is incorporated into a weekly news brief distributed via email and social media channels.
Newsdesk not only allows associations the opportunity to present a visually stunning representation of thought-provoking news, but also provides non-dues revenue through sponsorship opportunities. MultiView's leading digital advertising sales team focuses on unobtrusive ad placements within the segment, allowing for a visual mix of news and industry-specific advertising opportunities.
"The momentum around digital video news is strong. More than six in 10 U.S. adults now watch videos online, with roughly half of those consistently watching news videos. One of MultiView's goals is to help associations benefit from technological trends in the marketplace. Newsdesk is just another platform to help associations remain the informational authority for their members and the industries they serve," said Dan Maitland, president of MultiView. "Newsdesk doesn't replace an association's already successful news brief. It's been created to enhance and innovate the brief that members rely on for important information."
Newsdesk will be available to MultiView partners beginning Sept. 22. For more information on Newsdesk, or any other MultiView partnership opportunities, visit www.MultiView.com.
