A new research report about The Future of Work released today by Tower Lane Consulting revealed that 60 percent of enterprises plan to increase freelance hiring in 2014. • Managing an extended workforce is challenging. Enterprises surveyed found "strong" or "very strong" difficulties with payment processes and communication methods.
  
  
• Businesses want to cut down time-to-hire so they can get their work completed more quickly. Sixty-eight percent of companies surveyed expressed a "strong" or "very strong" interest in a tool that would enable easier and quicker hiring and onboarding.

The Future of Work Study Methodology
The study was conducted by Tower Lane Consulting, and commissioned by Elance, in August, 2013. Researchers queried 250 respondents via an online survey, and conducted 10 interviews. Respondents consisted of U.S. companies larger than 50 employees.
