LEE, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/22/14 -- Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX) announced that Chief Technology Officer Greg Kazmierczak will discuss how organizations can leverage existing technology and infrastructure to measure and attest device health at the Cybersecurity Innovation Forum on Jan. 28. Kazmierczak joins JWSecure's Tom Jones and Microsoft's Atul Shah on the panel, which will be moderated by Stan Potter of the National Security Agency (NSA).
"The sophistication and the sheer quantity of threats, coupled with the enormous number of devices, make it difficult to track and prevent malware compromises," said Kazmierczak. "Software-based device health checks can be easily spoofed and provide false assurance of the health of a device. We'll cover how measurements of device health -- when safely protected by the Trusted Platform Module -- can help detect, identify and prevent malware attacks."
The majority of enterprise devices sold in recent years contain the security hardware needed to perform remote attestation, which can be harnessed to indicate the health status of a device.
The Cybersecurity Innovation Forum is a three-day event sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence with the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the National Security Agency as the primary participating organizations.
The event brings content, expertise and momentum from the Trusted Computing and IT Security Automation conferences into a single event. Along with several general sessions and keynotes, the Forum comprises four main tracks -- Trusted Computing, Security Automation, Information Sharing, and Research.
Wave will be located at booth 417/418, with representatives on hand to showcase Wave's virtual smart card authentication capabilities, along with solutions for device health and identity. Wave is sponsoring an evening reception on Tuesday in the exhibit hall (Ballroom III and IV, 400 level.)
About Wave Systems
