Folia Challenges Traditional Word Processing

Actualizado el 14 de agosto, 2014 - 17.38hs.

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 08/14/14 -- Branchfire, makers of iAnnotate, the award-winning app for iPad and Android, today announced the launch of Folia. As the first productivity tool of its kind, Folia is poised to replace traditional word processors of the past.

"We believe that communication is as much about capturing perspective and relationships as it is about processing words. Our thoughts and ideas are built upon relationships, but it has always been difficult to effectively express such connections in our documents," said Ravi Bhatt, co-founder and CEO of Branchfire. "With Folia, we set out to create an application that is beautiful, intuitive, and guided by the way people naturally communicate."

Features of Folia include:

  • A simplified word processor for composing text
  • Ability to link text to documents, and documents to other documents
  • Support for multiple file types including PDF, DOC, PPT, and images
  • Ability to mark up and comment on linked documents/webpages
  • Seamless syncing across desktop and tablet devices
  • Easy sharing with collaborators

"People waste a lot of time trying to explain the relationships between their documents and ideas," continued Bhatt. "By allowing the author to connect their words with additional content and point to specific comments, Folia helps its users curate a guided tour through their files and ideas."

The app is completely free for a limited time and available for iPad, Android tablets, OS X, and Windows 8 tablets and desktops. The Android version is initially read-only.
