MENLO PARK, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/11/14 -- ClearStory Data, the company that's bringing Data Intelligence to everyone, today announced that ClearStory and Cloudera will participate in a sponsored TDWI webinar on Thursday, November 13, 2014, titled "Telling a Story with Data: Skills for Both Business and Technical Analysts." Fern Halper, research director at TDWI and Ted Cuzzillo, journalist and industry analyst, will moderate the webinar, discussing traditional and modern approaches to data storytelling and new solutions. The webinar will also detail best practices for both business and technical analysts to develop data storytelling skill sets to enable businesses to see, interact with and better glean insights from data. This discussion will be based on the recently released TDWI Checklist Report, Telling a Story with Data.
"Up until now, business users have lived in a world where they receive or present data and facts in a static report or dashboard that are hard-wired to a certain schema, allow for minimal to no data exploration and have pre-determined biases. As a result, insights are constantly lost and decision-making is impaired by blind spots," said Kiran Sattiraju, director of product management of ClearStory Data. "ClearStory's newest interactive Collaborative StoryBoards capability advances data storytelling. Its modern storytelling approach empowers all business stakeholders to engage in rich, interactive storytelling on the latest insights, speed decisions through new storytelling capabilities including narratives in-context, exploration and real-time collaboration. The result is deeper insights for the business and two times faster decisions with true business impact. This is a significant leap forward from traditional, dashboard-based views that constrain the business decision process and depth of insights."
