CANTON, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 07/23/12 -- The International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM) today announced a new course offering for IT professionals that will focus on the management of mobile assets across the enterprise.
The first Certification in Mobility Asset Manager (CMAM) course will be offered on October 15 - 16, 2012, prior to the IAITAM 2012 Annual Conference and Exhibit.
The IAITAM CMAM course will provide concepts that address the needs of the asset disposition manager including, but not limited to, current organizational dilemmas such as bring your own device (BYOD) versus adopting standard mobile devices as well as a host of other topics:
"With the BYOD trend becoming a staple across organizations, questions on asset management such as governing policies and software licensing become a real challenge," said IAITAM's CEO, Barbara Rembiesa. "Setting aside the rise of BYOD, mobile assets in general have traditionally been the most difficult to manage and serious issues, such as security breaches, loss and theft, until recently have been largely swept under the rug. With the rise in number of units throughout the enterprise, mobile devices pose a mounting threat to the organization."
IAITAM Certification Courses are designed to establish a viable professional development path for the IT Asset Managers and related occupations. In addition to CMAM, IAITAM offers certifications in the following:
"ITAM has moved from being a functional framework to a strategic element in every organization," continued Rembiesa. "It is important that organizations have standardized ITAM practices in order to prevent financial losses, security gaps and maintain a competitive edge through technological advancements in a controlled fashion."
