When:
July 24, 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Where:
Wyndham Blake Hotel, Chicago IL
What:
The Technology Business Management (TBM) Index represents the first major effort to benchmark and assess how business technology leaders improve value by running their organizations as the business does. Launched in early June at the TBM Council CIO Summit, the TBM Index is a global survey that enables CIOs, CTOs and other qualified IT executives to compare their own practices and capabilities against those recommended by the TBM Council and those of their industry peers.
In this informative keynote, Tom Murphy, a board member of the TBM Council and the former CIO of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and AmerisourceBergen, will share early findings from the TBM Index based on the responses of IT leaders from over 300 organizations. Tom will describe how TBM is being applied in different industries, such as financial services, health care, manufacturing, retail and the federal sector. He will also show which TBM practices, such as transparency and demand planning, correlate with different IT investment ratios and operating models.
After his keynote presentation, Tom Murphy will participate in a panel discussion of the current innovations impacting IT finance. The group also includes Russ Finney, partner and CIO at Stryve Advisors, Rosa Akhtarkhavari, CIO of the City of Orlando, and Jim McGittigan, research director at Gartner. The panel aims to examine the effects of dynamic new computing models on traditional procurement and IT management activities.
