SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- (Marketwire) -- 07/24/12 -- AssetWorks, a leader in Intelligent Workplace Management(SM), today announced that Texas A&M Health Science Center's Facilities and Construction Office (FCO) was named the July/August recipient of University Business magazine's Models of Efficiency Award. University Business defines a model of efficiency as an "administrative practice or procedure that uses technology and smart business processes to provide superior service to students, while optimizing resources." The Models of Efficiency Award is a national program that honors colleges and universities that "meet the higher education business and technology challenges of today's campus."
Texas A&M Health Science Center was recognized for their innovative use of AiM from AssetWorks to realize $98,475 in annual savings from business process improvements and better analytics. An additional $44,200 is expected to be saved annually through the use of AssetWorks' mobile solution, AiM iDesk for iOS, which has noticeably increased the productivity and efficiency of field technicians. Because the university deployed AiM in the summer of 2011, these savings manifested themselves in less than one year. According to Mark Cervenka, Facilities Manager for Texas A&M Health Science Center, "Everyone needs to be more accountable, to operate with the leanest of budgets, and justify how money is being spent. (AiM) provides efficiencies and reporting capabilities to make that possible."
"AssetWorks heartily congratulates Texas A&M Health Science Center for this well-deserved honor," said Ken Slaughter, Senior Vice President, AssetWorks. "We are extremely gratified to have played a role in helping the university shape a more efficient and productive workplace. It's really what our IWMS solutions are all about-improving visibility, accountability, transparency and optimization for organizations like Texas A&M Health Science Center."
