MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/08/12 -- NetBase, the Enterprise Social Intelligence (ESI) Platform company, today unveiled the latest installment of its What Women Want study, an analysis of more than 27 billion conversations in social media over one year to unearth the top ten things that men and women want. Food dominated both gender's top ten lists, and today's Brand Passion Index (BPI) was no exception, featuring sushi and the associated emotions, opinions and behaviors expressed by men and women through social media.

While men and women had different favorites in the analyses of beer and bacon, they saw eye to eye when it came to sushi. With 36% of the women's conversations and 39% of the men's conversations, popular chain Benihana generated the highest share of buzz for both genders' online conversations. The restaurant stood out as a clear favorite with solid Net Sentiment and Passion Intensity metrics. Women gushed about its family-friendly atmosphere and sushi options, while men appreciated the quality of the food and the overall restaurant experience.

Women's most loved restaurant for sushi went to Nobu, a high-end Japanese restaurant with locations all over the world. The passion winner generated the second largest share of buzz, with 13 percent of the overall chatter for women and captured a Passion Intensity of 89 and a Net Sentiment of 87. Female online consumers raved about the delicious food as well as the 'adventure' of eating at the renowned sushi spot. Men were most passionate about Sushi Rock, which captured brand loyalty with a Net Sentiment of 83 and a Passion Intensity of 75. Men boasted about the chain's food and overall atmosphere.
