BUCHAREST, ROMANIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/08/12 -- Bitdefender®, the award-winning provider of innovative antivirus solutions, today announced its top-ranking for a seventh time in trials against other security software by independent testing organization AV-TEST.

Bitdefender remained firmly at the top of the antivirus industry through testing in May and June of Internet Security 2012 against 24 other security solutions. Bitdefender scored 17 points of a possible 18 in the rigorous, two-month testing process.

Bitdefender, which also won AV-TEST's prestigious Best Protection 2011 Award, scored a perfect 6 points in the Repair category. The category measures software's performance in cleaning and repairing infected computers. In both the Protection and Usability categories, the product scored a near-perfect 5.5.
