OTTAWA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/15/12 -- N-able Technologies®, the global leader in remote monitoring and management (RMM) and service automation software for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments, is pleased to announce its new N-central 9.0 platform has been "approved" by the CRN Magazine Test Center. The "CRN Test Center Approved" rating is given to those channel-ready technology products that, upon careful review and analysis by CRN's technical editorial staff, are deemed best-in-class when it comes to features and benefits such as innovation, necessity, ease of use and price/performance.
In a recent product review conducted by CRN's Test Center, Technical Editor Eddie Correia highlighted the platform's overall stability, enhanced automation capabilities and ease of use. He also credited N-able on the impressive flexibility and efficiency behind N-central's Automation Manager, which provides a drag-and-drop environment for creating scripts to automate mundane tasks such as updating software and checking for virus protection.
Correia notes the best part of N-central 9.0's Automation Manager is not only that there are scripts written in Microsoft PowerShell and compatible with all current and future versions of Windows, but also that "MSPs can leverage existing knowledge of PowerShell scripting or have none at all because the tool is effective either way," says Correia.
Another new feature within N-central 9.0 that caught the attention of CRN's Test Center was the platform's 200 service filter parameters. This new capability takes the filtering of devices and other network resources to the next level and makes it easier for MSPs to accurately decipher active issues containing many hundreds of items by using specifications such as customer site, status or project -- "a feature many MSPs have been clamoring for," says Correia.
Further differentiating itself from competitive platforms, N-central 9.0 includes N-able's coveted MSP Technician Runbook, which is integrated into the platform and features a series of automation policies based on the culmination of industry best practices, standard procedures and input from the N-able partner base. By using the Runbook, MSPs can simplify, standardize and document best practices and processes as they relate to technical service and customer support, while simultaneously giving junior technicians the ability to launch and monitor tasks so that the senior technical staff is free to handle more advanced duties and customer service needs.
"N-able's new N-central 9.0 equipped with Automation Manager has given us a powerful and effective way to make automation easier and more efficient. My advice to any MSP is to make the move to N-able's N-central 9.0 -- you'll be glad you did," says Wim Lamot, technical manager of Accel Computer Service, one of 880 N-able partners worldwide already using the new platform to gain greater operational efficiency and empower technicians to optimize workflow, automate IT service delivery and ultimately provide a higher-level of service, support and ROI to the customer.
"As this CRN review and other industry leading ratings demonstrate, N-able's N-central 9.0 platform delivers unprecedented standards for automated MSP service delivery and advanced remote control of client devices," says Robert Grapes, director of product management, N-able Technologies.
"These technical advancements, combined with our continued investments in MSP business enablement and sales readiness, have made it much easier to earn business away from our competitors and further strengthen and grow our success with existing N-able partners worldwide," says Mike Cullen, vice president of sales, N-able Technologies.
