LOS ALTOS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/15/12 -- Box today announced the addition of Sam Schillace as Vice President of Engineering and Evan Wittenberg as Vice President of People to its executive team. Most recently, Mr. Schillace was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Principal at Google Ventures and Mr. Wittenberg was Chief Talent Officer at HP.

Sam Schillace, Vice President of Engineering
Prior to joining Google Ventures as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Schillace was the co-founder and CEO of Writely -- the first browser-based co-editing service -- which was acquired by Google in 2006 and provided the foundation for Google Docs. At Google, Schillace was an Engineering Director, initially overseeing Docs then moving on to be responsible for nearly all of Google Apps (including Gmail, Calendar, Blogger, Picasa, Groups, Sites and Reader), leading the efforts of hundreds of engineers worldwide. He has been a technical advisor to Box for the previous two years and moving forward he will continue to serve as an advisor for Google Ventures and its portfolio.
Evan Wittenberg, Vice President of People
As Chief Talent Officer at HP, Wittenberg was responsible for executive recruiting, career development, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development globally across the company. Previously, he founded and led the global leadership development program at Google. In addition to his roles at HP and Google, Wittenberg was Director of the Graduate Leadership Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Swarthmore College and a Master's of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
