Benchmark Details

• Oracle's record-setting configuration delivers 53 percent improvement upon the previous best two processor result and showcases the performance of Sun Fire x86 servers, based on new Intel® Xeon® E5 processors, running Oracle software across multiple tiers(2).
• At the application tier, the compact Sun Fire X4170 M3 server equipped with two new Intel Xeon E5-2690 2.9 GHz processors and running Oracle WebLogic Server with Oracle Linux delivered more than double the performance of IBM's 2-socket servers based on either x86 or POWER architectures that were running WebSphere Application server software(3).
• At the database tier, Oracle Database 11g Release 2 running on a new 2-socket Sun Fire X4270 M3 server configured with Sun Storage 2540 M2 Arrays outperforms IBM's DB2 database deployed on either IBM x3850 X5 or PS701 servers(3).
• In addition to this record setting result, Oracle WebLogic Server continues to hold the overall world record(4) and the best dual-node(5) benchmark results with the SPECjEnterprise 2010 benchmark.
