PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/12 -- HP (NYSE: HPQ) today announced that outsourced IT infrastructure solutions provider and HP CloudAgile partner Latisys has selected HP CloudSystem to support its managed hosting and cloud service offerings.
Latisys, which is now certified to host HP CloudSystem, provides IT infrastructure solutions to large enterprises, medium-size businesses and government agencies on a high-density, high-security platform that spans colocation, managed hosting, managed services, disaster recovery and enterprise cloud.
The growing demand for its on-demand infrastructure prompted Latisys to seek an enterprise-grade cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution with integrated pools of virtual and dedicated resources. The company had been providing virtualization to customers for several years, but required an IaaS solution with automated provisioning and orchestration to accelerate, simplify and enable on-demand scalability.
After evaluating several options, including turnkey private cloud products, open source and building an in-house solution, Latisys selected HP CloudSystem. HP CloudSystem is a complete, open platform for building and managing cloud services that provides integrated software, servers, storage and networking. HP CloudSystem is part of the HP Converged Cloud architecture, which enables the integration of any combination of private, managed and public cloud, as well as traditional IT, providing workload portability as well as dynamic scaling.
In addition, Latisys improved customer choice with the HP CloudSystem platform, which supports hypervisors from VMware, Microsoft® Hyper-V and others. As a result, Latisys customers can select a solution that best fits their specific needs while simplifying migration to the cloud.
"The pace of business today is staggering. CIOs are challenged to do more with less and faster than ever before. As a service provider and host, we are seeing more organizations looking to take advantage of cloud to quickly and easily deploy the applications that drive growth," said Christian Teeft, vice president, Engineering, Latisys. "HP CloudSystem has enabled Latisys to meet customer demands for self-service computing while still delivering enterprise-grade performance and massive scale, helping to truly set Latisys apart."
HP CloudSystem has enabled Latisys to:
Latisys, an HP CloudAgile partner, is part of a program to extend the market reach of service providers through access to the HP global sales force and channel partner networks. The program accelerates time to market with cloud-ready infrastructure and solutions.
