Ranked 58, Proofpoint was presented the award on the evening of Thursday, October 11, at a ceremony at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.

The Fastest Growing Private Companies ("Fast Private") awards recognize companies in the Silicon Valley with the highest percentage increase in net revenue from 2009-2011. All listed companies had sales of more than $200,000 in fiscal year 2009 and were in business throughout that entire fiscal year. Proofpoint, which began trading publicly on the NASDAQ in April 2012, qualified for the Fast Private awards as nominations took into account financial performance through the end of the most recent fiscal year, when Proofpoint was still a private company.
