NEWARK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/15/12 -- SMART Storage Systems, an innovative and rapidly emerging enterprise solid-state drive (SSD) technology provider, will showcase the industry's highest performing, largest capacity enterprise-class SSD and X-IO's Hyper ISE 7-Series Storage Solution at this week's SNW Fall. Available with up to 1.6TB of useable capacity, the SMART Storage Systems Optimus Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 2.5" SSD delivers a 1GB/s sustained transfer rate, while also achieving the industry's highest endurance from consumer-grade multi-level cell (MLC) Flash. The Optimus SAS SSD will also be showcased in X-IO's Hyper ISE 7-Series in SMART Storage Systems' booth (#412).
The X-IO Hyper ISE 7-Series is designed to be the next generation's true hybrid storage solution, providing the needed capacity for today's enterprises by combing the performance of an SSD solution at the price of a HDD solution. It offers improved application performance, utilizing both the patented Continuous Adaptive Data Placement and the Optimus SAS SSD from SMART Storage Systems. The Optimus SAS SSD benefits the Hyper ISE 7-Series by achieving up to a sustained transfer rate of 2.4GB/s and random read performance of 300,000 IOPS, energy efficiency, and 24x7 high-availability redundancy of key components.

The Optimus SSD delivers sustained read performance of 1GB/s in wide-port mode and random read/write performance up to 100K/50K IOPS, and is available in useable capacities from 200GB - 1.6TB. The Optimus SSD is equipped with SMART Storage Systems' Guardian Technology Platform, a proprietary suite of enterprise features and endurance enhancement technologies that enable more cost effective MLC Flash to be maximized for mixed-workload and write-intensive applications. The Guardian Technology Platform is made up of the FlashGuard, EverGuard and DataGuard technologies. FlashGuard, an innovative combination of Aggregated Flash Management and Advanced Signal Processing technologies, enables commercial MLC flash to achieve higher endurance levels, making it suitable for the enterprise environment. With FlashGuard, the Optimus SSD is able to achieve 10 random drive writes per day for a period of five years. DataGuard and EverGuard technologies ensure data integrity and drive reliability are never compromised, satisfying the demanding reliability requirements of Tier-1 enterprise storage applications.
