BELLEVUE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/16/12 -- Intentional Software, the company founded by former Microsoft chief architect Charles Simonyi, today announced an exclusive partnership with the David Allen Company. Widely considered the world's leading authority in the field of individual and organizational productivity through his work-life management system, David Allen has helped millions streamline their work habits through a series of organizational processes as outlined in his best-selling book Getting Things Done® (GTD®). Through this partnership, Intentional Software will collaborate closely with both the David Allen Company and the GTD community to define a solution that embeds the collective knowledge and intellectual property of established GTD best practices.
In direct collaboration with David Allen, Intentional Software will apply its Meta software development approach to deliver a compelling user experience for the Getting Things Done methodology, with the goal of increasing productivity on mobile devices. The project does not plan to replace existing systems like email, voicemail, social networks, or other collaborative applications, but rather develop a "Meta" application that integrates with leading applications individuals already use.
"Today, society is more mobile than ever and there is an expectation that our devices should enable us to become more productive," said David Allen, Founder and Chairman of the David Allen Company. "However, that is often not the case. The team at Intentional has taken a completely different approach to creating software, one that lends itself particularly well to encoding the GTD methodology in a multi-point, mobile productivity solution."
Intentional is inviting the GTD community to provide user experience feedback along with partnership opportunities for organizations who wish to integrate with this new offering. Intentional Software is also actively recruiting talented individuals to collaborate on this project. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Intentional Software at www.intentsoft.com/gtd.
"Countless attempts to develop productivity software have been tried and developers quickly learn that every individual user has very different requirements and preferences, which is one of the reasons why a new approach to creating software is needed," said Charles Simonyi, Founder, CTO and Chairman of Intentional Software.
"There are already a number of widely used plug-ins and apps for GTD enthusiasts. However, there remains a significant opportunity to build something that is more flexible and adapts to our personal preferences. We are looking forward to engaging with the GTD community to take the GTD methodology into an exciting new direction," said Eric Anderson, CEO of Intentional Software.
