SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/18/12 -- Varolii Corporation, a market leader in customer interaction management, today announced its Varolii Interact Mobile Service MC to help companies enable their smartphone applications with mobile customer interactions. Varolii Interact Mobile Service MC consists of two elements: a cloud-based multi-channel service and a mobile application Software Development Kit (SDK). These enable developers to easily add customer interaction capabilities into existing smartphone applications with an option to create multi-channel interaction applications via voice, text and email.
This service is a new expansion of the proven, secure Varolii Interact platform that enables business to add customer interactions to their own applications or utilize a Varolii-hosted customer interaction management applications with consumer cross-channel interactions for voice, text, email, smartphone push and smartphone web applications. These product options enable companies to choose how they want to proactively reach consumers with information at the right time, including "waking-up" smartphone applications to push information to consumers.
"We live in an age of instant information and always available connections. As a result, the mobile consumer expects high-quality consistent customer service across all interactions -- including communications via smartphone push notifications, voice, email and text messages," said Dave McCann, CEO at Varolii. "The Varolii Interact Mobile Service MC provides an easy way for companies to orchestrate the broadest number of channels of interaction to optimally reach consumers regardless of which channel they prefer."
With the Varolii Interact Mobile Service MC, companies and application developers can utilize the Interact Xpress 10 multi-channel application programming interface (API) and a free Mobile App SDK to add push notifications to their Apple and Android mobile applications. With a single, multi-channel API, developers are able to eliminate the complexity of integrating with multiple single-channel API vendors to interaction enable their applications. As a cloud-based platform, companies can also easily scale their usage of the platform based on business needs and volumes of communications.
For example, in the healthcare industry, it can be difficult to get patients enrolled in key healthcare programs and maintain engagement throughout the healthcare lifecycle. With this service, healthcare providers, payers and other organizations can take advantage of multiple communications options in a single API to increase enrollment rates and improve engagement in programs. One healthcare service provider also uses this service to provide emergency, time-sensitive communications to hospitals using a variety of channels.
"The healthcare industry is focusing on improving patient experience. The smartphone will play a rising role in the coming years for hospitals, clinics and wellness providers. In other industries, it is clear that first generation smartphone applications suffer user abandonment shortly after download. In fact, more than two-thirds of consumers open an app ten times or less, and 26 percent of downloaded apps are used only one time," said McCann. "Varolii's rules-driven, real-time push notifications can breathe new life into a company's business-to-consumer (B2C) mobile apps, allow customers to self-serve more easily and help companies realize benefits from their mobile investments faster."
Varolii's Mobile App SDK provides an open environment for smartphone application push notification development and testing. The SDK allows application developers to drive consumers to use their mobile applications more by pushing relevant information based on real-time events, motivating them to take action faster. Varolii's SDK is currently available for iOS and Android. The free SDK can be seamlessly embedded into existing mobile applications or an integral part of new mobile application development.
"Mobiquity is pleased to have partnered with Varolii on the development of the Mobile App SDK. As an expert in customer engagement, Varolii has extended their ability to interact with consumers across every pane of glass; via voice, text, push and email. We are looking forward to incorporating this toolkit within our customer base, marrying their cross-channel approach with our unrelenting focus on building the most engaging mobile customer experiences," said Bill Seibel, CEO of Mobiquity, a professional services firm working with the Global 2000 to create mobile solutions that drive business value.
