He joins the company alongside some of the most dedicated PostgreSQL community contributors who comprise the core of EnterpriseDB's technology influencers.

Grittner, who has earned recognition among PostgreSQL community developers in recent years as a dedicated and knowledgeable developer, will report to Tom Kincaid, vice president of products and engineering. Grittner will continue to contribute to the PostgreSQL Community and act as a committer while serving as Database Architect for EnterpriseDB.

Grittner has over 40 years experience in the computer industry and managed his own consulting firm for 26 years. Prior to EnterpriseDB, Grittner spent six years as a database administrator for the Wisconsin State Courts. Some of his recent work includes development of Serializable Snapshot Isolation (SSI) for PostgreSQL with Dan Ports of MIT, as well as participating in the design and development of the third generation of software for the Wisconsin Court System.
