TUSTIN, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/19/12 -- Arium today announced support for Intel® Architectural Event Trace (AET). This technology was introduced in the 2nd/3rd Generation Intel® Core processor family. Instrumentation of software execution without code modification is realized through a profile of the Architectural events.
Arium's LX-1000 hardware-assisted debugger can capture up to 2 GBytes of AET events. Occurrences such as interrupts, exceptions, RDMSR, WRMSR, In/Out instructions, Code/Data Breakpoints, SMI, MWAIT, etc. can stored along with time-stamp information. AET helps track code execution paths by showing a trace of events that occurred.
Coupled with the Arium LX-1000, the recently released version of SourcePoint 7.10 offers developers a unique view of Intel architecture. Arium provides graphical user interfaces that correlate software running on the target with time-stamped AET events. Programmers can view source code, code execution trace, and AET events simultaneously and time-aligned. The resulting features can be a powerful tool for BIOS, United Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), and device driver developers.
