SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/22/12 -- Attachmate Corporation today announced the availability of Attachmate® Reflection® 2011 R3, a family of terminal emulation and PC X server software that securely connects desktop and mobile users to mission-critical business applications. Compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 Certified, Attachmate's new terminal emulator software connects users to enterprise applications running on IBM mainframes (including the new IBM zEnterprise EC12), IBM AS/400's (IBM System i), UNIX/Linux servers and HP NonStop.

Many companies, like Northern Trust, are continuing with their move to Windows 7, even with the Windows 8 launch coming later this month. In fact, Windows 7 migration activity is peaking, largely due to the looming end of support for Windows XP.

According to Gartner in a recent report, "Is Windows 8 in Your Future?," analysts recommend that with the launch of a new operating system right around the corner, organizations will need to consider either continuing with planned adoptions of existing operating systems or move to the newest version.
