Formerly with F5 Networks and Isilon, Helsel will oversee the design and delivery of products supporting Apptio's TBM strategy, and will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.

Prior to joining Apptio, Helsel ran engineering efforts at Isilon Systems (acquired by EMC in 2010 for $2.5 billion), where his product vision and high-performance leadership contributed to an eight-fold increase in revenue during his tenure. His professional background includes similar, high-impact roles as president and CEO of Lockdown Networks (a provider of enterprise security technology) and chief technology officer and senior vice president of product development at F5 Networks, where he helped the company become a market-share leader and one of the most successful initial public offerings of 1999.
