AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/03/12 -- Each month of 2012 has resulted in record sales for Volkswagen Canada, and November was no exception. The country's 136 dealers delivered a total of 4,659 new cars and light trucks last month, a figure 16% higher than during the same month last year (4,015). Year-to-date, the total of 55,355 represents a new full-year record with December sales still to go, and betters last year's total by 13%.

The redesigned mid-sized Passat has experienced explosive growth in sales figures this year, with Canadian consumers finding great value in its combination of size and price. With a range of available engines, including the TDI Clean Diesel, the Passat offers a compelling choice for mid-size sedan drivers.

TDI Clean Diesel engines are now available on the Jetta, Beetle, Golf, Golf Wagon, Passat and Touareg models. These engines are recognized as the industry benchmark for power and efficiency, allowing drivers to have the best of both worlds.
