MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/10/12 -- Violin Memory, Inc., provider of a new class of high-performance flash-based memory storage systems, today welcomed Richard Dyke as senior vice president of North American sales. Dyke joins Violin from Riverbed where he championed worldwide sales for the company's cloud storage business unit. At Violin, Dyke will drive the continued business momentum for flash-based enterprise storage and accelerate sales with the growing customer base.

Dyke spent 15 years in sales and sales management at EMC Corporation where he held the position of western regional vice president (VP), driving over $500 million in annual sales. He also held executive roles at Storage Networks, Inc., Stentor, Inc. and Radisphere. At Stentor, Dyke led all of sales and sales operations. The company was acquired by Philips Healthcare Informatics and he was appointed global VP of sales, responsible for worldwide sales of the product lines.
