CAMPBELL, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/13/12 -- Rainmaker Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RMKR), a leading global cloud e-Commerce company, today announced the appointment of Donald J. Massaro as President and Chief Executive Officer, and member of the company's Board of Directors effective December 11, 2012.

Mr. Massaro is a renowned Silicon Valley entrepreneur and leader, with a long track record of successfully leading cutting-edge technology-based companies and bringing innovative products to market. Mr. Massaro has been a founder and CEO of six Silicon Valley technology companies including Reconnex, Yotta Navigation, Silicon Gaming, Inversion Development Corp, Metaphor Computer Systems and Shugart. For the last six years, Massaro held the position of CEO of Sendmail, a leader in messaging infrastructure serving the world's largest corporations. In the early 80s Massaro was a Xerox Corporate Vice President and President of the Office Products Division where he led the commercialization of technologies developed at Xerox's famed Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).

In addition, Massaro was a PhD engineering candidate at the University of California at Berkeley. Massaro currently is on the Board of Trustees of the Computer History Museum, on the Engineering Council for the University of Notre Dame, and remains in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yotta Navigation, which develops personal navigation device technologies for the U.S. Government, using the latest advances in sensors, signal processing, and machine learning.
