SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/18/12 -- Once the mainstays of business presentations, traditional pie charts and spreadsheets now elicit yawns in comparison with newly interactive graphics on iPads and iPhones, according to a customer survey by Roambi, the leading provider of mobile business apps. Unveiled today, the survey found that 81.1 percent of respondents said interactive graphics are their most useful tool for presenting and understanding business data.
A majority of respondents (67.7 percent) ranked big data and business intelligence as technology investment priorities for 2013, followed by mobile hardware (46.9 percent) and security (35.4 percent). On average, respondents estimated they review and derive value from less than half of their company's key business data.
Roambi, a stunning business app that redesigns the way the world interacts with data, engages business audiences through graphical and magazine-style reports that can be adapted on the go for new insights or impromptu presentations. Designed from the ground up for the mobile environment, Roambi puts the pulse of a community or business in the palm of a decision-maker's hand and helps them make critical business decisions -- anytime, anywhere.
Additional survey findings:
Business intelligence apps beat CRM
iPads and iPhones closing in on laptops
A lunchtime drink less harmful than a slide presentation
2012 shapes up as the year of mobile work
The survey caps a year in which Roambi grew its customer base to more than 100,000 business and professionals, gaining significant traction in the enterprise with 20 percent of Fortune 50 companies relying on Roambi for data visualization. In addition, Roambi partnered with the government of South Africa to publish interactive displays of new census data to help policymakers make better-informed decisions for decades to come and recently released new features and enhancements to both the Roambi Analytics Layers and Cardex views.
"The results of this survey further confirm to us that a more consumer-like and design-driven approach to business intelligence is becoming increasingly important when it comes to interacting with key business data," said Santiago Becerra, CEO, Roambi. "Dexterity, grace and ease-of-use are replacing struggle as Roambi customers find themselves able to visualize and mine data in more meaningful and useful ways."
