CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/19/12 -- Calgary-based co-location provider, Pivot Data Centres, today announced expansion of two of its primary data centres in Calgary and Edmonton. The expansion marks a level of unprecedented growth for the company, seeing strong demand from emergent companies to large enterprises and government.

Edmonton

"When we first researched the feasibility of opening a data centre in Edmonton we knew there was good demand for co-location services. However, since opening, client demand has surpassed our expectations," commented Michael Koury, President & CEO. "Our pipeline is robust, and we are increasing market share as every day passes."

The Edmonton data centre opened its doors on August 1st of this year, and has already sold nearly half of its 38,000 ft2 initial capacity. Pivot has since secured a contiguous 30,000 ft2 for future growth to support strong demand from both the private and public sector.

Calgary

After seeing growth in 2011 and 2012 from its two data centres in Calgary, Pivot is again expanding its Calgary footprint by adding a full Megawatt of capacity at its centrally-located Calgary facility. Securing a number of undisclosed large enterprise "private suite" clients, as well as a number of smaller "shared space" deals with emergent companies has fuelled the expansion.
