Today, advanced cyber attacks are bypassing traditional security defenses using malware to compromise insiders, and then access and exfiltrate sensitive data. In 2011, the Verizon Data Breach report noted that 69% of breached data incorporated malware. And many enterprises remain completely unprepared. For example, the recent high-profile breach in South Carolina relied on malware to infect employees and steal 72 gigabytes of sensitive data.
