AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/01/13 -- Sales results have picked up where they left off last year for Volkswagen Canada. January's total of 3,373 new cars and light trucks established a best-ever result for the month and were 8.5% higher than during the same period last year (3,109).

"2012 was a year in which we built up a great deal of momentum," stated John White, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "With our strong lineup of vehicles, we are confident that this will continue throughout 2013."

This week, Volkswagen's 136 Canadian Dealers will also welcome the latest member of the Beetle family, the sun-loving convertible. This iconic design is a sure-fire way to kick the winter blues and will allow Canadians to take advantage of the first days of spring with an automated power top that can retract the roof in less than ten seconds.
