MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- FireEye, Inc. and Mandiant Corporation today announced a partnership that improves joint customers' capabilities to respond to advanced cyber threats faster and more efficiently.
As part of the alliance FireEye and Mandiant® intend to integrate their products in 2012 for comprehensive breach detection and remediation so that threats can be efficiently prioritized based on the risk they pose. This will help provide comprehensive, network-to-endpoint breach detection.
"The first question customers ask when they receive an alert about malware is 'Now what?'" said Dave Merkel, CTO of Mandiant. "By utilizing our respective products as part of an integrated workflow, customers gain visibility into which specific systems have been compromised as a result of the malware, understand the scope of the incident, and are able to rapidly determine the best course of action to contain it."
"Cyber attacks get more sophisticated every day," said Ashar Aziz, FireEye Founder and CEO. "Speed and efficiency in detection and response is key. FireEye's network based capabilities for detecting and blocking advanced targeted attacks, such as the APT, working with Mandiant's ability to detect and scope threats on the endpoint shortens the time for customers to mitigate targeted attacks."
By pairing the FireEye Malware Protection System with the host visibility provided by the Mandiant Intelligent Response® appliance, users will be able to rapidly assess threats within their environments, identify the scope of the breach, and accelerate their response time.
Some specific use cases for how the products may be used together include:
In addition to supporting integrated use cases the companies will train their sales and engineering teams, and channel partners on how to use their respective products.
