EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/27/13 -- Serenic Corporation (TSX VENTURE: SER) - R. Dwayne Kushniruk, ("Kushniruk") announced that pursuant to a pooling agreement entered into on March 16, 2013 between Kushniruk, Gordon Buchanan, and their respective companies that own common shares of Serenic Corporation, Kushniruk has acquired control of 2,590,833 common shares ("Common Shares") of Serenic Corporation (the "Corporation"). This block of shares, which represents approximately 17.87% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares of the Corporation, is comprised as follows: 15,833 Common Shares held by Gordon Buchanan; and 2,575,000 Common Shares held by Gordon Buchanan Enterprises Ltd., a corporation that is beneficially owned by Gordon Buchanan (collectively referred to as "Buchanan Shares").

Prior to entering into the pooling agreement, Kushniruk was deemed to have ownership and control of 2,461,930 common shares, representing approximately 16.98% of the issued and outstanding common shares of the Corporation, comprised of 929,680 common shares held directly by Kushniruk; and 1,532,250 common shares held though his wholly owned corporations, 765226 Alberta Ltd. and 940568 Alberta Ltd. (collectively referred to as "Kushniruk Shares"). As a result of the pooling agreement Kushniruk is deemed to now have control of 5,052,763 Common Shares, comprised of the Kushniruk Shares and Buchanan Shares, which in total comprise approximately 34.85% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares of the Corporation. Kushniruk also owns 215,000 stock options of the Corporation, which when combined with the issued and outstanding shares represent approximately 35.80% of the issued and outstanding common shares on a fully diluted basis, assuming exercise of all of the stock options held by Kushniruk.

Other than as set forth herein, Kushniruk has no further rights to acquire any other securities of the Corporation at this time, however, may from time to time, depending on market and other conditions, increase or decrease his beneficial ownership, control or direction over the Kushniruk Shares or other securities of the Corporation, through market transactions, private agreements, treasury issuances, exercise of convertible securities or otherwise.
