RESTON, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/02/13 -- Netuitive, Inc., the leading provider of predictive IT analytics, today announced a collaboration with Splunk to deliver a powerful, analytics-driven solution for proactive monitoring of critical applications and services.
The solution is a combination of the best-in-class capabilities of both Splunk Enterprise and Netuitive:
The Netuitive Plug-in for Splunk Enterprise is listed on SplunkBase and can be accessed here.
The joint solution has already been validated by a production deployment at a major global bank, which considers both Netuitive and Splunk Enterprise as key components of their next-generation APM strategy. The bank is using the solution to proactively monitor the performance of the single-sign-on (SSO) and access management applications -- an IT service critical to the bank's business processes and applications. The "plug-in" will be available to qualified users on Netuitive's support site.
The solution's development comes on the heels of a recent Gartner report outlining the growth of IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) while also noting the important role of Behavior Learning technology. The report concludes that ITOA, as part of large scale APM, will continue to grow in importance over the next five years. The report forecasts that by 2015, 60% of Global 2000 enterprises will consider ITOA a higher priority than APM, up from 20% in 2012.(1)
Netuitive is squarely positioned within Gartner ITOA as advanced IT analytics built upon Behavior Learning technology, making it very complementary in Gartner's assessment.(1)
"While application-performance-data-specific analytics capabilities have always been considered essential to a comprehensive APM solution, the last 18 months have seen an intensification of interest in cross-domain ITOA platforms," said Will Cappelli, senior analyst for Gartner.(1)
"The Netuitive-Splunk collaboration was market driven and is indicative of how large enterprises are migrating to next-generation APM solutions," said Nicola Sanna, CEO of Netuitive. "Together we have created a powerful monitoring and analytics solution able to identify critical anomalies across physical, virtual and cloud computing environments. We already have a number of Netuitive prospects and customers, including large financial institutions, who have inquired about deploying the joint solution."
"The Netuitive-Splunk integration emphasizes the strength of Splunk Enterprise as a platform for machine data," said Bill Gaylord, Sr.Vice President, Business Development, Splunk. "Customers gain the benefits of aggregating and analyzing all their machine data with Splunk Enterprise as well as behavioral learning with Netuitive to automatically detect correlated data sources and find anomalous patterns. This can lead to enormous time savings during troubleshooting or root cause analysis and the proactive prevention of outages."
Netuitive's predictive analytics software, powered by its patented Behavior Learning Engine, correlates real-time performance and application data from a multitude of data sources to enable proactive performance management of critical applications such as trading systems, online banking, e-commerce, and retail systems.
