The women honored are leaders in either the private, public or not-for-profit sectors and make a difference in the community. Ms. Chang and the other honorees were nominated by peers and selected by the Women of Influence judges.

Ms. Chang was born in Taiwan, but she embodies Silicon Valley. She arrived in Silicon Valley in 1976 and has been paving the way for minorities and women in the Valley ever since. She was recognized as Citizen of the Year in 2002 by the Sister County commission of Santa Clara County and Hsinchu, Taiwan.
