IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/23/13 -- Project Insight, project management software provider, today announced they have added a single sign-on (SSO) feature to its software-as-a-service (SaaS) edition. Once a firm logs into Windows or other authentication service, team members are automatically logged into a project solution without having to authenticate a second time. SSO is part of the latest major upgrade of the popular mid-market project and portfolio management application, version 10.

Requiring team members to use a long list of logins (both professionally and personally) is common problem companies endure. To alleviate the problem, Project Insight software engineers developed SSO to simply the process. Cynthia West, Project Insight vice president, noted, "The single sign-on capability allows organizations to tie users' logins and password from the local network authentication directly to Project Insight. Once team members log into the company's internal system, they are automatically logged into the project software as well."

The single sign-on capability is not limited to connecting via Windows; organizations have the option to authenticate via Facebook, GoogleApps or any other third-party federated service (SAML 2.0 or ADFS). New features in version 10 that contribute to Project Insight's increasing usability include shifting the entire project software to HTML5, and new dashboards with layout options. Additional features include:

• On it list - team members may place any tasks, projects or other items currently being worked on to help prioritize them
• Simplified task detail form - expand or collapse certain areas to see only the information team members prefer
• Updated auto-alerts - customize and create HTML email templates for notifications
