SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/26/13 -- Hadoop Summit - Simba Technologies, the industry's expert for Big Data connectivity, announced today that it has partnered with Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, to provide improved read and write access to the MongoDB and Cassandra NoSQL data sources in support of Business Intelligence (BI) and big data analytics projects.
Integrating Simba's connectors into the Informatica Platform enhances its power to access, process, and act on the data which feeds various BI, data analysis and reporting applications such as Excel, Microsoft, Alteryx, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports and countless others.
"Flexible connectivity options are critical for the adoption of technologies like MongoDB and Cassandra. If our customers cannot connect their existing environments to these big data sources they simply cannot take advantage of the promise of big data." said Todd Goldman, vice president and general manager of Enterprise Data Integration and Data Quality, Informatica. "Informatica makes it easy for non-experts using our visual no-code development environment to integrate NoSQL data sources into the big data pipeline. Our partnership with Simba accelerates customers' time-to-value for business intelligence and analytics."
Simba pioneered BI support for NoSQL data sources launching the industry's first ODBC compliant drivers for Big Data in 2012. Simba's MongoDB and Cassandra with SQL Connectors provide customers' standards based access to their data for using the SQL-based application of their choice. Combining Simba's connector technology with Informatica's Vibe's "Map Once, Deploy Anywhere" virtual data machine ensures customers can easily access and integrate all their data.
"We're pleased to partner with the leader in data integration technology to bring important new capabilities to MongoDB and Cassandra enterprise customers," said Amyn Rajan, CEO of Simba.
Availability
The MongoDB connector is available from Informatica later this summer and the Cassandra connector is scheduled for the winter release.
