AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 07/29/13 -- In its role as the leading advocate for the Central Texas technology community, the Austin Technology Council (ATC) today reaffirmed the Council's immediate and long-term responsibilities for ensuring the advancement of Austin as a global hub for technology innovation. Following a conclusive annual CEO Summit and a comprehensive strategic assessment of the needs and strengths of the regional tech community, ATC has outlined a series of goals to continue fostering the Austin technology industry.
Specifically, ATC is focused on the following three priorities for 2013-2014:
I. Assessing and implementing solutions to create a strong technical talent pipeline
II. Strengthening Austin's capital position and influence as a leading technology hub
III. Establishing benchmarks for success and conducting regular economic assessments to be shared with stakeholders
To provide additional support to pursuing these priorities, ATC has also:
"Austin's global reputation has introduced significant opportunity and increased expectations from the rest of the international technology community," said ATC President Julie Huls. "Along with our CEOs, it is the Austin Tech Council's responsibility to support the Central Texas tech community by putting the parameters in place to ensure success. In short, the world is watching and, with a $21B annual stake in the regional economy, we are raising the bar on tech's role with the greater community."
