BELLEVUE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/01/13 -- ScaleOut Software, a leading provider of in-memory data grids (IMDGs), today announced that Juan Menendez has been appointed as its vice president of sales, effective immediately. Menendez will oversee all of the company's global sales operations and lead the expansion of the sales force to meet the growing demand for IMDGs as a platform for operational business intelligence.

Prior to joining ScaleOut Software, Menendez served as sales director for the Emerging Products division of VMware, where he led dramatic sales expansion into new territories. He joined VMware via the company's acquisition of Gemstone Systems, where he was senior vice president of global sales and business development, and was a key member of the executive team that led Gemstone from start up to acquisition. Menendez has also held senior sales roles at Aligo, Inc., EDS and IBM. He received a B.S. in economics from Allegheny College.
