CAMPBELL, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/07/13 -- Leading file sharing service Hightail (formerly YouSendIt) today announced the beta release of Hightail for Outlook, a completely re-imagined version of its popular Microsoft Outlook add-in. Hightail for Outlook helps professionals work more effectively by adding their Hightail folders to their mailboxes, making it easy to access and share files without leaving Outlook. It also stores incoming attachments automatically, so they are easier to find and instantly accessible from other devices using Hightail's range of mobile apps. And like the company's original Outlook add-in, Hightail for Outlook continues to solve the problem of emailing large attachments.
"People spend a lot of time at work in their inbox, which can be depressing," said Hightail Chief Product Officer, Matte Scheinker. "Our new product lets you access all your project files and folders from Outlook, making your inbox a happier place to be. It's Prozac for Outlook."
This product release follows the company's announcement last month that it had changed its name from YouSendIt to Hightail. The rebrand was accompanied by a completely redesigned experience for the service's 43 million global users across its website, desktop and mobile apps. Hightail also offers unlimited storage for just $15.99 a month.
Be essential
The popularity of communication tools may shift, but for professionals, email remains essential for completing daily tasks. Ninety percent of professionals use email as much or more than they were 12 months ago(1) and the total number of business emails is set to grow by one-third to 132 billion over the next five years(2). Outlook remains the desktop email service of choice for more than 75 percent of professional users(3).
Hightail for Outlook makes this essential business tool even better by automatically storing received email attachments like documents, presentations, photos and videos on Hightail. It allows users to share project folders with clients and colleagues right from Outlook so everyone can work together in one simple place. Hightail for Outlook stores everything in the cloud, helping users avoid the confusion of emailing multiple edits of the same document back and forth. It also means that the latest version of any file can be accessed from anywhere with a Hightail mobile app.
Be effective
When Outlook users send and receive a lot of large email attachments, they often face the problem of a full mailbox. In order to receive new messages, users must free up space by deleting older emails. Not only does this waste valuable time, the user also runs the risk of permanently losing valuable information.
Hightail for Outlook stores all incoming and outgoing attachments in the cloud. Because Hightail offers unlimited storage, users never have to delete any files and their mailbox can become an unrestrained repository of important information. Hightail for Outlook also helps the email system's Exchange server work faster and more efficiently -- a holy grail for any company's IT administrator.
Hightail for Outlook is now available as a beta release. Visit www.hightail.com/applications to learn more.
