ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 08/22/13 -- The Trusted Computing Conference announced that Dark Reading and InfoSecurity, as well as analyst firms IT-Harvest and Aberdeen have signed on as premier media sponsors for the three-day inaugural event. Held Sept. 9-12, at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, FL, the conference will gather the most influential and powerful IT security individuals and businesses to unify the standards-based trusted computing message to further combat cyber threats.
"Having Dark Reading and InfoSecurity sponsor this conference underscores the growing interest and demand for a standards-based approach to cybersecurity," said Robert Thibadeau, head of the Trusted Computing Conference Steering Committee.
"As attackers become increasingly sophisticated, one of the trends we're seeing is a growing number of exploits that work at the hardware level," said Tim Wilson, editor in chief at Dark Reading. "As a result, the work that's being done in trusted computing is becoming more important than ever."
"Having spoken with some of the security industry's most respected thought leaders, I can say many have identified authentication as a substantial problem requiring a need for innovative solutions," said Drew Amorosi, deputy editor for Infosecurity magazine. "In a world of proliferating mobile devices, a standards-based approach to trusted computing will be critical for success in this area."
"Trusted credential storage and machine identification are two of the most critical security measures to employ in this new era of constantly increasing threats," said Richard Stiennon, founder of analyst firm IT-Harvest. "IT-Harvest is pleased to be a media sponsor for the Trusted Computing Conference."
In addition to Stiennon, confirmed speakers at this year's TCC will include media and cyber security experts, such as Debora A. Plunkett, information assurance director for the National Security Agency (NSA); Joerg Borchert, president and chairman of the Trusted Computing Group; and Steve Lipner, partner director of software security in Trustworthy Computing Security for Microsoft, as well as other recognized thought leaders and experts in the field of trusted computing.
