OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 04/03/12 -- Canadians are taking notice of the product renaissance at General Motors as the fuel-efficient Chevrolet Sonic, versatile Chevrolet Orlando and luxurious Buick Verano all enjoyed their best sales results on record. The Chevrolet Sonic drove a 61 per cent increase in Chevrolet Small Car sales while the Orlando drove a 10 per cent increase in the Compact Crossover/MPV segment for Chevrolet. Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers reported 22,684 deliveries in March 2012.

"The Buick transformation continues to appeal to customers," said Marc Comeau, vice-president of sales, service and marketing at GM of Canada. "The all-new Buick Verano is surpassing expectations and the continued success of the LaCrosse and Canadian-built Regal has driven Buick sales up 50 per cent in March."

--  In March 2012, 116 Chevrolet Volts were delivered, the second strongest
    month of sales for the Volt in Canada to date. 
    
--  Total Buick vehicle sales have increased 39.5 per cent calendar year to
    date, led by the all-new the Canadian-built Regal with an increase of
    23.3 per cent for the month 
    
--  The GMC Terrain is up 4.7 per cent calendar year to date

Total GM sales were down 7.4 per cent compared to last March.
