TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- Trapeze Group ("Trapeze") has announced that Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) selected Trapeze to provide a statewide Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system to help track the condition of their fixed route and paratransit vehicle fleet, facilities and equipment. RFTA services the Colorado communities of Aspen, Snowmass Village, Pitkin County, Basalt, a portion of Eagle County, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs and New Castle.
Exceeding the FTA's requirements, RFTA can choose to use the State of Good Repair and Capital Planning modules to track all assets, their condition and their capital replacement schedules which may result in SOGR data management efficiencies and easier reporting to federal regulatory agencies. The EAM system integrates into RFTA's existing Trapeze back office system.
"Effectively managing the assets taxpayers have entrusted to those of us operating in rural environments, while complying with the upcoming reporting requirements of the MAP21 regulations, present some very unique challenges," stated Kenny Osier, at RFTA. "Trapeze EAM, coupled with the strong partnership and leadership of Denver RTD, can provide a solid platform for small rural transit properties throughout the state to build off of. This collaborative approach will allow everyone to share information and learn how best to manage their assets. Trapeze EAM coupled with the 'No One Left Behind' concept, most notably used in the Education system, will ensure that Colorado will be able to show taxpayers that transit within Colorado is truly responsible with the funding they have been so graciously given."
In operation since 1983, Roaring Fork Transportation Authority operates a fleet of over 82 vehicles and transports 4.5 million passengers annually. RFTA has received many recognitions including, "Best Mass Transit System of North America" by Mass Transit Magazine, "Best Large Transit Agency" by CASTA and most notably, by Washington, DC, as a recipient of the White House Champions of Change Transportation Innovator. RFTA has also been commended for implementing, VelociRFTA, the first rural BRT project in the USA.
EAM is a commercial off-the-shelf product which optimizes the agency's work flows, funding allocations, and resource utilization resulting in enhanced organizational transparency that facilitates accurate and agile capital planning. Providing full lifecycle asset management, the system assists with reducing asset related operating & capital costs. RFTA is using the State of Good Repair (SGR) grant to fund a portion of the new Transit Asset Management (TAM) System.
Trapeze invites all Colorado transportation professionals to visit Trapeze during the 2013 CASTA/CDOT Fall Transit Conference & Expo on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 to learn more on TAM systems. On Thursday, September 26th at 9:30 am, Trapeze will be presenting alongside of Dave Ober, Denver RTD, Dave Averill, CDOT and Kenny Osier, RFTA, among others, on "Transit Asset Management." The session will cover the TAM plan tools available, as well as, tips on implementation and reporting. Additionally on Thursday, Trapeze Group will be participating in a joint presentation at 3:15 pm titled "Statewide Transit Asset Management Software" to discuss the RFTA procurement process, system requirements and deployment strategies.
