WILMINGTON, DELAWARE -- (Marketwired) -- 10/01/13 -- TMM, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: TMMI) ("TMMI" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that its TRUDEF digital compression technology has been customized to play HD and Ultra High Definition video on the Android operating system for mobile devices.
Owned by Google, Android is a Linux-based operating system designed for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computer devices. Android is open source and the most widely-used mobile platform in the world.
TRUDEF is designed to work on the most popular Android platform versions including cutting edge smartphone and tablet hardware such as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Sony Ericsson Xperia, HTC Flyer Tablet, LG Optimus and Alcatel One Touch. Android is the dominant software platform used by telecommunications companies, wireless carriers and developers of content delivery for downloading video over the internet and streaming media.
This marks a major advance by the TRUDEF product development team as it expands the display formats from only the Microsoft Windows Platform. In the near future, users will soon be able to view TRUDEF compressed video content on a wide variety of platforms as well as large format screens to Microsoft's new mobile device.
TRUDEF plays 4K content on the Windows 7 and 8 operating systems for Microsoft's Surface tablet since June of 2013. TRUDEF display redefines high resolution performance with sharper movies for laptops, desktop computers and Microsoft X-Box
As part of TMMI's continuing TRUDEF codec modernization, we are developing program software development tools, software framework, hardware platform, computer system, video game console, operating systems. Programming work for playing video on the Apple OS X is also under development and once completed, an application will be prepared to register with Apple.
Other graphics chips on which TRUDEF has been tested include the GeForce® GTX 675M GPU in the Asus G75VW laptop AMD's new Catalyst 13.6 Windows® Beta Driver released in May 2013. The team has successfully tested TRUDEF using AMD Radeon HD 7970 Graphics cards on both single and multiple displays.
TMMI continues development of its TRUDEF codec with updates and improvements for digital video compression. Technically challenging videos obtained from content developers continue to be compressed with the resulting compression rates/ decompressed picture quality exceeding previous levels.
