SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/08/13 -- Sauce Labs Inc, the leading provider of cloud-based mobile and web application testing solutions, today announced the appointment of Michael Canon as its new vice president of sales. Canon joins the team with 18 years of business development experience in the industry and will oversee the startups' growing enterprise sales division.

Prior to joining Sauce Labs, Canon worked at software analytics platform company New Relic, where he led the acquisition and enterprise sales teams. Under his supervision, New Relic expanded from less than 30 employees with a few hundred customers to over 300 employees and 55,000 customers.

Canon's appointment comes at a pivotal time for Sauce Labs. On September 26, 2013, the company announced a partnership with Microsoft and appendTo to launch BrowserSwarm, a platform to streamline JavaScript unit testing for developers and QA engineers. More than 65 million tests have been run in the Sauce cloud and developers now conduct over 6 million tests each month with that number steadily rising.
