In our previous webinar, penetration testing was discussed from an engineering perspective, focusing on how testing contributes to improving defensive confidence as environments evolve. As enterprise detection increasingly relies on behavioral correlation and telemetry analysis, testing approaches naturally need to move beyond purely point-in-time validation and towards exercises that reflect how modern systems are actually monitored and defended. This webinar presents a research-driven engagement conducted in a fully monitored enterprise environment, designed to examine how modern endpoint and network controls respond to carefully engineered user-mode activity under realistic operational constraints. The discussion focuses on what this reveals about detection reliability, telemetry dependence, and how engineering-led testing can provide higher signal outcomes in modern environments. Session Focus - Thread-less syscall-based injection: Exploration of injection approaches that avoid canonical correlation sequences commonly relied upon by behavioral detection engines, and the resulting impact on alert escalation. - Deterministic mathematical shellcode reconstruction: Runtime payload assembly using deterministic arithmetic recomposition rather than encryption or obfuscation, examining how similarity engines and entropy-based indicators respond when no static payload exists prior to execution. - Covert command and control engineering: Evaluation of communication models that blend into trusted infrastructure and modern transport patterns, including QUIC-based traffic and serverless infrastructure routing, and how these interact with contemporary network inspection controls. In summary: The intent of the webinar is to share practical observations from our engineering-led approach of testing in modern monitored environments, and to illustrate how testing scope evolves as defensive systems themselves become more behavior and correlation driven.
