The electricity generation and delivery network is undergoing a transformation. The landscape is shifting from a limited number of large generating sources, a one way flow of power to consumers, and limited communication between the utilities and customers to a more complex scenario characterized by more generating sources, bi-directional power flows, and increased communication between utilities. When we couple the move to smart meter technology with the move of work forces and customers to mobile devices, we see utility organizations faced with new challenges of faster delivery, increased reaction time and more flexibility and agility within the organization. With many large utilities having more than 1MM Smart Meters deployed (or planned), there are significant challenges in the area of application development and testing. Many organizations have archaic approaches to testing that are laborious and high in capital expenditure. There is an alternative that enables organizations to test scalability without a significant capital investment and allows testing at much higher levels to ensure that needs are addressed. In this presentation, we report on our experience in scalability testing & defect minimization in Smart Meter implementations and how to prepare for additional impacts of the mobile revolution.

Join this webcast to learn:

How to test scalability without the significant captial investment
Ways to prepare the back office for mobility and the data explosion while keeping customers satisfied
How to apply more rigorous testing to the applications earlier in the lifecycle and enable organizations to reduce defects getting into production.
