In this webinar, Owen Rogers, Research Director of 451 Research’s Digital Economics Unit, will detail the savings that cloud buyers can make by shopping around for the cheapest services for each part of their Web application. Instead of using a single cloud provider to deliver an application, buyers who split their application requirements, such as compute and storage, from multiple providers can make substantial savings. Those that commit to a number of cloud providers through subscriptions and long-term contracts can save even more, up to 74% in our analysis. But the trade-off is the seamless integration and convenience of procuring from a single provider. The data is taken from this quarter’s US edition of the Cloud Price Index (TM), which collects prices of compute, storage, databases, management and more from 26 providers, representing 85% of the US market. In this webinar, we’ll look at how prices have changed in the industry and examine what this means for both end users and service providers.
