Exploring the Software Defined Data Center

The virtualization and cloud industries continue to develop, and the latest set of technologies has allowed us to contemplate, for the first time, a fully Software Defined Data Center (SDDC). “A Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) is a data storage facility in which all elements of the infrastructure networking, storage, CPU and security are virtualized and delivered as a service. Deployment, provisioning, configuration and the operation, monitoring and automation of the entire infrastructure is abstracted from hardware and implemented in software.” If you’re interested in what is meant by an SDDC, and curious as to how such a thing might be defined and implemented, then please join us on March 15th. The data center of the future is built on the data center of today and still consists of servers, storage, networks and infrastructure. We’ll be exploring: •How we add a software-based layer (an SDDC) over an existing data center •What current technologies are on their way to providing SDDCs •The necessity of ensuring interoperability between these technologies •How to develop your own software defined data center environment
