In response, major U.S. telecom providers and suppliers formed the QuEST Forum, which launched TL 9000—a quality management standard tailored specifically for telecom. Built on the ISO 9001 framework, TL 9000 added more than 80 industry-specific requirements to address the sector’s unique challenges.
