The growing popularity of additive manufacturing (AM) is reshaping the manufacturing industry, creating opportunities for bigger and more complicated parts. Those looking to invest in AM as a way to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry must not only decide in which machines and capabilities to invest—they must also ensure that these highly-specialized machine tools are protected from potential failures and that the final parts match the intended designs.

In this webinar, you'll learn how additive simulation software can allow you to overcome design constraints and safely push the boundaries of what's possible in the highly complex world of additive manufacturing.

Join CGTech to hear how AddUp, an industry-leading manufacturer of metal AM machines, utilizes Vericut software to test a variety of build techniques to find the most efficient way to manufacture complex parts in ways that previously weren't possible. Using Vericut to run simulation tests to verify laser activity and detect potential collisions, AddUp saves hours of manufacturing time and ensures parts are built efficiently and without machine downtime or project delays.

Agenda
- Trends, capabilities and complexities of AM technologies
- How to use simulation software to test machine capabilities and design and to validate the producibility of complex additive parts
- How AddUp utilizes Vericut to ensure success throughout the design-to-part process

Gerald Ohlms:Technical Support Engineer

Mr. Ohlms has been with CGTech as a technical support engineer for Vericut software since 2016. He has over 10 years of manufacturing experience. His professional career began after graduating from The Missouri University of Science and Technology, starting at Patriot Machine, Inc. in St. Charles, Missouri working as a mechanical engineer. At Patriot Machine his work involved implementations of various CNC techniques and processes, use of various CAD/CAM software (including Vericut), and involvement in aerospace programs such as the F-15, F-18 and F-35. In Mr. Ohlms' role as technical support engineer for CGTech, he designs many general-purpose and customized training courses, supplies technical support to enf-user customers and provides manufacturing consulting services to numerous companies in virtually every industry.
