Cross-domain engineering and optimal vehicle integration of electric drivetrain components

Matching power needs to different vehicle sizes is a top priority when developing innovative electrified powertrains for the mass market. Automakers must optimize weight to balance optimal efficiency, lifespan, and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) while addressing operational and branding requirements. Because of this, OEMs and suppliers are pioneering propulsion system solutions design.

In this webinar, join us with Puneet Sinha, Simcenter Electrified Vehicle Consultant - Siemens DISW, and Benoit Magneville, Simcenter Application Product Manager for Electrification. They will present how Siemens Simcenter solutions support the overall design of new electric drivetrain components to vehicle integration using simulation

Achieve operational excellence with a 3-in-1 electric drive system

Electric drive makers must bring together three systems: the electric motor, the transmission, and the power electronics—and all three systems call for various physics phenomena and performance to predict.

Enabling seamless collaboration

Suppliers face numerous engineering challenges to offer OEMs power density, compact dimensions, and low weight electric drives: predicting and optimizing thermal, vibroacoustic, electromagnetics, structural performances, and much more. Using a flexible, open, and scalable simulation and testing portfolio is critical for those who want to predict the performance of systems and system of systems on a short and affordable development cycle.

Puneet Sinha:Simcenter Electrified Vehicle Consultant , Siemens DISW

Before joining Siemens, he worked at General Motors where he led global R&D teams to solve a wide range of issues with fuel cells and battery electric vehicles and at Saft, a Li-ion battery manufacturer. Puneet received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, has authored more than 20 journal articles, and has been awarded 7 patents on fuel cell and battery system design and operational strategies.

Benoit Magneville:Product Manager for Simcenter Electrification Cross-domain Solutions , Siemens DISW

Benoît started his career in 2009 and spent several years as a Project Engineer, then Project Manager, at Simcenter Engineering services. He oversaw advanced mechanical CAE project for worldwide companies, during which he developed a strong expertise in automotive engineering. He then spent 3 years as a Business Development Manager for the Simcenter Mechanical simulation domain, focusing on the Automotive industry. These experiences convinced him that all simulation and test communities need to work together and not in siloes, to solve engineering challenges and develop cleaner, better-performing, more durable products. With this belief in mind, he became this year Product Manager for Simcenter Electrification cross-domain solutions
